How to Proceed
Original
and commissioned oil paintings and limited edition giclee prints are
available from Tunstull Studio. Artist Glenn Tunstull is a noted former
illustrator who has published children's books and created fashion illustrations
for Vogue, Marie Claire and Women's Wear Daily. Editorial, retail and
beauty clients include The New York Times, Bloomingdales and Revlon.
He has taught at Parsons School of Design and Pratt Institute.
Corporate and private clientele have the option to actively participate
by providing photographic imagery to be translated by the artist into
an original, one-of-a-kind oil painting. Commissions are tailored to
client preference in subject matter, color palette and scale. These
works of art can be tailored for interior designers, architects and
art consultants working on a variety of projects, and are also appropriate
for the individual client who wishes to enhance a private residence
or office.
Limited edition giclees may be produced for the client upon request.
Prices for original oil paintings begin at $1,800 for 18'x24.
Giclee prints made from an original oil painting ranges from $500 to
$1,900 a piece, depending on size and number of prints produced in the
edition.
How to Proceed:
Step One: Client contacts Tunstull Studio and provides complete
contact information, description of size requirements, color palette
and preferred subject matter. A photograph of the potential subject
matter may be provided for review. Commission work generally requires
four to six months lead time.
Step Two: Glenn Tunstull Studio will reply within 14 days providing
a written estimate and time line for the project, along with a contract
for services. Contract for all services requires a 50% non-refundable
deposit. The balance due in full, upon completion, and prior to shipment
of the art work(s). Client is responsible for all packing, shipping
and insurance costs.
Step Three: Project is initiated with the return of the fully executed,
signed contract, and 50% non-refundable deposit, and the photograph
to be used in the creation of the original oil painting.
Suggestions as to How to Select Photographic Images:
Client can review existing portraits and snapshots, travel photos of
special places or even use their own home as a backdrop. Family or pet
portrait commissions are based on a per-person/creature rate. Paintings
can be created from multiple images or sources. Commercial reproductions
can be purchased and combined with personal photographs.
Optionally, the client may wish to work in tandem with Tunstull Studio
to select or create an image for the original oil painting. An additional
fee is assessed, which may include travel time and expenses where appropriate.
